Three Agility & Jumping Nationals - Two times National Champion, two times Runner-Up National Champion
‘Sian’ has certainly been an exciting dog to own. She is the foundation bitch of Calanais Kennels, and produced for us two lovely litters before being desexed.
‘Sian’ has had success in several disciplines, proving to be quite an all-rounder. She gained her Australian Championship with ease, gaining many large Best of Breeds and class in group awards along the way. Her movement is her forte, and many judges have commented on her effortless, ground covering gait.
Once she gained her Championship title, ‘Sian’ took a long break from the conformation ring to whelp her first litter, and to concentrate on Agility, Jumping, and Obedience. Sian had a brief return to the ring, and notched up a number of nice wins, taking her points tally to well over 200, and also winning some class in group awards. Sian also won Reserve CC Bitch at the 2005 Australian Working Dog Club of S.A. Specialty Show (Open show).
‘Sian’ has also completed her CD title, winning two trials, and placing second in the other, with scores up to 197! ‘Sian’ has one CDX pass and we look forward to finishing this title soon.
‘Sian’ has won three South Australian State Agility and Jumping Titles (2003, 2004 & 2007 - not entered in 2006), as well as winning her class at the Royal Adelaide Show in 2004, 2006 and 2007.
‘Sian’ has also won three South Australian Canine Association Top Dog Awards, in 2004, 2005 and 2006.
Most notably, at the 2005 Agility and Jumping National Titles in Perth, W.A., ‘Sian’ joined her kennel-mate ‘Bailey’, by winning a National Title. 'Sian' won the Open Jumping National Final. She also placed second in the Open Agility National Final, and third in the Masters Agility National Final.
'Sian' made the journey to New South Wales for the 2006 Agility, Jumping and Games Nationals. With only 8 months having passed since the last event, and a litter of puppies in between, 'Sian' went with very limited preparation (three trial days since the last Nationals!)! However, 'Sian' placed second overall in the Novice Strategic Pairs Final, with over 100 entries!
In Adelaide, 2007 'Sian' qualified for three National finals, won the Excellent Snooker National Title, and placed fifth in the Strategic Pairs Excellent final, partnered with our regular team-mates Wendy Skelton and Ag. Ch. Hollie.
