Puppies!!

We have a litter of 6 babies from our 'Tully' - Ch. Calanais Cool As Ice ADM JDM JDO GDX SDM SPDX ET - and 'Miranda' - Ch. Calanais Walk The Line AD JDX GD SD.

There were 5 girls and 1 boy born on the 10th of December 2011!

Lots of great news that is overdue!

To begin with, a big congratulations to Lauren Mitchell of Harvellie Kennels on gaining Olivia's - Harvellie Summer Romance - Australian Champion title recently! 'Olivia' has been enjoying much success in recent times, with large challenges, best of breed and class in group awards. She was also Reserve bitch at the Border Collie Club of Queensland Open Show in October.

'Olivia' is Tully's fourth Champion progeny!

Olivia's sister, Flick - Harvellie Quick Flick - was Reserve Challenge bitch at the Border Collie Club of Queensland Champ Show! Congratulations to Lauren Mitchell and Flick's owner, Tracey Lamb!

Agility success for Lara!

Alexa McKenzie's 'Lara' - OC Calanais One Fine Day ADM JDM SDX GDX SPDX has recently gained her Jumping Dog Master title. A big thank you to Jace Schultz for doing such a great job as handler with Lara!

Royal Adelaide Show - General Specials Day!

'Gamble' kept the Border Collie flag flying in the Group judging and was awarded BEST EXHIBIT IN WORKING DOG GROUP SECOND (Group 2) from an entry of 394 dogs (right behind the Best In Show winning Puli)! We thank Judge, Mr. M. Forte of Ireland for this great honour.

Royal Adelaide Show - 2011!

A great day at the show with a quality entry of 70 Border Collies.

Our 'Gamble' made his first appearance at the Royal Adelaide Show, winning the Australian Bred Dog class, CHALLENGE DOG, and BEST OF BREED!

'Sammi' was second in the Australian Bred Bitch class, and then RESERVE CHALLENGE BITCH!

'Leah' was fourth in the Puppy Bitch class.

Congratulations to all of the other winners!

'Olivia' - Harvellie Summer Romance - owned and bred by Lauren Mitchell, has been enjoying success recently, with Junior in Group, Best of Breed, and Runner-Up Best of Breed awards! Olivia is fast closing in on her title!

On Saturday, Sammi was challenge bitch and Runner-Up Best of Breed! Leah was Minor of Breed.

On Sunday, Sammi was again challenge bitch and Best of Breed. Leah was Best Minor Puppy in Group! Check out her new page!

Some Obedience, Agility and Jumping success!

A big congratulations and thanks to Alexa McKenzie for gaining 'Ellie's' Utility Dog (UD) title! 'Ellie' is now Ch. Calanais Kinky Boots UD ADX JDX GDX SDX SPDX.

'Ellie' also gained another Masters Agility qualification recently, thanks to the expert handling of Kelly Schultz! Thanks Kelly! Jason Schultz also had some great runs with 'Lara' - OC Calanais One Fine Day ADM JDX GDX SDX SPDX. Some runs were SO close that it is probably better not to think about them (Jason :-)!

'Sammi' gained her Agility Dog (AD) title and her Jumping Dog Excellent (JDX) title, and will be hitting the Masters ring soon! Well done to Alexa McKenzie on these great results! 'Sammi' is now Ch. Calanais Beyond The Rave AD JDX GD CD.

A busy few weeks and lots of good news!

Despite all best intentions, keeping the News Reel up to date has proven impossible again!

Firstly, I am happy to share the news that my PhD has recently been awarded, and was awarded a commendation from the Dean of Graduate Studies at the University of Adelaide! Very happy and very relieved!

I recently had the opportunity to attend a congress in Rome, Italy. After the week-long meeting, Katie and I spent two weeks visiting Austria and Hungary, before spending a week yachting in Croatia! Whilst in Rome, I was lucky enough to spend a wonderful afternoon with Francesca and Stefano of Allymoon Border Collies. Thank you to Francesca and Stefano for the hospitality and kindness you extended to me - it was wonderful to meet you and your beautiful family of dogs (and to eat all of that great italian food)! I look forward to meeting you again some day!

Newly titled Tully daughter!

This weekend the Tully daughter, 'Emma' ~ Allclarity The Millenium Star (EXP NZ) gained her New Zealand Championship title!

A big congratulations to Emma's owners, David and Averil Ross, and to Emma's breeders, Simon and Clare Watling of Tasmania.

Emma is Tully's first 'overseas' titled champion, and becomes his third champion titled progeny.

SA Obedience State Championships - 2nd & 3rd April 2011

A big congratulations to Alexa McKenzie and 'Lara' - OC Calanais One Fine Day (I've lost track of all her titles!), on winning the Utility class at the State Championships! Lara is a brilliant obedience dog and a very worthy winner!

Sammi also picked up a class win in the Novice ring, gaining her CD title. Well done Sammi, and thanks Alexa!

What a way to start our 2011 show campaign!

'Gamble' goes Challenge Dog, Best of Breed, Best in Group (Group 1), and RUNNER UP BEST IN SHOW!! A big thanks to the group judge Ms. Heidenreich, and the general specials judge, Ms. Foster.

'Sammi' also enjoyed her first show for the year - Challenge Bitch, Runner Up Best of Breed, and Best Intermediate In Group! Unfortunately, Sammi had to leave the show early to take part in the Obedience State Championships, so didn't get a chance to go back in the ring for Intermediate In Show. On a positive though, 'Sammi' gained her CD title with a first place this weekend! Well done to Sammi's obedience handler, Alexa!

New litter!

This January we welcomed our newest litter!

We thank Lyn Allshorn for allowing us to use the gorgeous 'Rossi' - Champion Merrinda Valentino Rossi, for our 'Ellie' - Champion Calanais Kinky Boots CDX ADX JDX GDX SDX.

We have retained a female puppy, 'Leah' - Calanais Midnight In Paris.

A male puppy, 'Freddy' - Calanais A Monster In Paris - has gone to Lynn and Bill Harrison at Tullacrest Kennels.

We look forward to both of these promising babies' show careers!
