Calanais Kennels was registered in early 2004, shortly before the first litter from our wonderful foundation bitch, 'Sian' - Dual Ch. (A) Beladele Random Heart ADM JDM ADO JDO GDM SDM SPDM CD ET. 'Sian' is our special girl and we have enjoyed many years of successful competition with her. Her greatest achievement was becoming Australia's first ever Dual Champion (A), a title that only one other dog in the country currently holds.

We have focussed on producing dogs that conform to the breed standard, as we interpret it. We have tried to do this by carefully selecting stud dogs that we believe will compliment and improve upon our existing dogs.

We are thrilled with our efforts to date - Best in Group winners, Class in Group and in Show winners, multiple Best Gaited awards, Royal Show Conformation, Agility, and Obedience winners, NATIONAL Agility Champions, State Obedience and Agility Champions, multiple Australian Champions, one Singapore Champion and one Obedience Champion...so far!

Available health tests are always utilised to control for the few genetic diseases known to affect the Border Collie, and all dogs are hip and elbow x-rayed and scored to minimise the risk of hip or elbow problems.
